Hinckley Spring Beer Fest

Hinckley Spring Beer Fest

John Tilley12 Feb 2013 - 13:01

Hinckley is to get a new event in its social calendar – the Hinckley Spring Beer Festival.

The festival will take place at Hinckley Rugby Club and will feature real ales made by craft brewers in Northants, Bucks and Herts.

There will also be 20 real ciders and Ghurka curry, cooked by Nepalese chefs who served with the Brigade of Ghurkas in the British Army.

John Tilley, chairman of Hinckley Rugby Club, said: “Folk in Hinckley love their real ale and we’ve gone out of our way to provide them with something a bit different.

“We’ve gone south over the border into Northamptonshire and beyond to find beers made by craft brewers with great body and taste.

“We’re going even further by putting on a Ghurka field kitchen. A team of ex-Ghurkas will be cooking up their curry, which is famed in the Armed forces.

“The curries themselves are actually quite mild but they come with relishes on the side which can blow your socks off.”

On top of 30 real ales, there will be 20 real ciders made by artisan producers across the UK. Like real ale, real cider is growing in popularity in the UK.

Hinckley Spring Beer Festival runs from Friday March 8 to Sunday March 10. The festival bar opens at 5pm on Friday.

The event takes place at Hinckley Rugby Club in Leicester Road, Hinckley. There is also an opportunity to buy a ticket for a VIP tasting event.

There are posters available from the clubhouse if you know of a nice home for one!!
